Areas of expertise: Climate Change, Forestry, Agriculture, REDD+, UNFCCC, Zero Deforestation Supply Chains

Dana focuses on forestry and agriculture for EDF’s International Climate program. She researches the design and implementation of REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) and other land use policies at the national and international level. Dana also evaluates strategies to eliminate deforestation from supply chains of beef, soy, palm oil and timber products.

Dana majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a certificate in Environmental Studies at Princeton University. For her thesis, Dana performed an independent field research project in Gamboa, Panama with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI). She examined the nutrient and environmental limitations on cyanobacteria in a tropical rainforest, using a 60 meter crane to set up samples in the rainforest canopy.
