Description
Leah is a member of both the Climate Resilient Food and Water Systems teams where she acts as a bridge between their related programming and works to expand engagements internationally through partnerships and collaboration. Leah is also leading on EDF’s emerging food systems diversification portfolio where she works closely with international partners, policy makers, producers and Indigenous and local knowledge holders to ensure equitable and sustainable food systems transformations.
Background
Leah is a manager on the Climate-Resilient Food & Water Systems teams. Previously, Leah held both a National Science Foundation (Indonesia) and Boren National Security Fellowship (Jordan), researching the impact of natural disasters and civil conflict on agricultural livelihoods. Leah comes from nearly a decade in the humanitarian field in Jordan, Syria and Bangladesh. Most recently, she worked on the Rohingya Refugee Response with the Food Security & Livelihoods Sector at the United Nations World Food Program. She is passionate about bolstering agricultural livelihoods and ensuring that producers have built-in resilience to environmental changes. She is also a classically trained pianist and keen to connect on how the arts can play a bigger role in the climate response.
