Manager, Agricultural Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
Areas of expertise: Agricultural economics, environmental markets, sustainable agricultural systems, corporate social responsibility
Sara Kroopf builds relationships with agricultural producers to increase economic incentives for environmentally sustainable practices, such as greenhouse gas mitigation, and makes sure that farmers, ranchers and forestland owners are rewarded for climate benefits generated under their management.
At UC Davis, Sara worked with the Agricultural Sustainability Institute on its Sustainable Sourcing of Global Agricultural Raw Materials project that looked at environmental, social, and economic impacts of the agricultural supply chain. Before beginning her concurrent MBA and MS in Agricultural Economics degrees, Sara worked in international agricultural development and small-business consulting in Mali with the Peace Corps. The experience abroad inspired her to take on a global agricultural perspective that required interdisciplinary environmental action.
