Director, Supply Chain
Areas of expertise: Corporate partnerships, fleet vehicles, green supply chain
Jason Mathers is a tenacious advocate for business leadership on climate change. He works with some of the world’s largest companies to reduce supply chain emissions and to foster support for critical climate policies.
Under his leadership, EDF partnered with manufacturers, CPGs, and retailers to implement strategies that increase carbon efficiency in freight transportation. Jason authored The Green Freight Handbook to share the learnings from these partnerships. Hundreds of companies are currently using this comprehensive document to improve freight performance.
Jason has spearheaded several successful efforts organizing leading companies in support of climate action, including on the Clean Power Plan and the Clean Car Standards. He guided EDF’s effort to galvanized public support from leading trucking fleets and freight shippers for heavy truck greenhouse gas emission standards. The success of this effort was celebrated in an editorial in the New York Times applauding the industry for supporting meaningful emission reductions.
Prior to joining EDF, Jason was an organizer with the Union of Concerned Scientists. Jason has a graduate degree in economics from Suffolk University. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
