Agricultural retail sector, agricultural supply chains, social network analysis (SNA), sustainable agriculture

Jamie works to support EDF’s goals of eliminating fertilizer as a major pollutant in our air and water. He is working to engage agricultural stakeholders such as crop consultants and ag retailers in order to encourage and support farmers in the use of sustainable farming practices.


Jamie acquired training in social network analysis – investigating organizations or systems through networks and graph theory – while serving as an intelligence collector and analyst in the US Army, and went on to work for several years as a social network analyst in the private sector. Jamie’s graduate degree focused on the intersection of natural resource policy and conflict resolution, as well as on tying together his SNA experience with formal supply chain analysis training.
