As Director, Grid Modernization, Ronny Sandoval manages EDF’s national grid modernization efforts in driving investments that increase the efficiency of the electric system and enable the integration of renewables and other emerging sources of energy. Ronny works with a variety of energy stakeholders, including national and regional organizations, to maximize opportunities for clean energy adoption.
Before joining EDF, Ronny managed efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce peak electricity use in capacity constrained areas of the system as part of Con Edison’s Energy Efficiency and Demand Management Department. Ronny was also responsible for forecasting the long-range impacts of energy efficiency programs for system and capital planning purposes.
Prior to this role, Ronny developed plans and performed engineering analyses to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Transmission and Distribution systems at Con Edison. Ronny has also held management positions across Con Edison’s electric, gas, and steam organizations.
Ronny holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from New York University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He earned his Master of Business Administration from New York University and is a Certified Energy Manager.
