But we have solutions that work for people, our economies and our planet — and now is the time to put them into action. Climate Week NYC is an opportunity for policymakers, companies and climate experts to explore and advance proven solutions. A global event, it builds momentum for meaningful progress at the United Nations climate conference, COP30, later in the year.
What we’re doing at Climate Week NYC: Environmental Defense Fund is hosting two days of events at 530 5th Ave. on Sept. 23 and 24, working with leaders from businesses, governments, civil society and more to drive action on climate change. Our experts will also engage in events across New York City throughout the week.

Our first day of featured events will take place at the Convene event space at 530 5th Ave. in New York City. More events and details will be added as they’re confirmed.

Chain reaction: A retail Scope 3 hotspots workshop
8:30-10:30 a.m. ET | Tuesday, Sept. 23
This workshop brings retail sustainability leaders together to tackle Scope 3 emissions hotspots across supply chains. Hosted by EDF and partners, participants will share challenges and best practices, and collaborate on actionable solutions to drive progress and turn climate commitments into results.

Trust and resilience: Photo stories and forest benefit-sharing lessons
10-11 a.m. ET | Tuesday, Sept. 23
This event will include a photo journey into the bond between forests and their protectors, and a panel on Ecuador’s inclusive REDD+ benefit-sharing plan. Indigenous and Afro-descendant leaders from around the world will share lessons on equitable climate finance, highlighting the link between strong communities and healthy forests.

Turn pledges into progress: Unlocking methane insights for investor action
3-5 p.m. ET | Tuesday, Sept. 23
EDF+Business hosts a financial sector event showcasing 2025 oil and gas methane data from MethaneSAT and others. Through rotating, expert-led discussions, participants will explore how investors can leverage these insights to drive methane mitigation in today’s complex political and financial landscape.

The state of SRM impacts science and the need for responsible research
4-5:30 p.m. ET | Tuesday, Sept. 23
This event includes a panel discussion with leading scientists in solar radiation modification impacts research, along with a fireside chat on the governance of SRM and why transparency, community dialogue and access to data are essential.

This event highlights how emerging technologies and partnerships are advancing climate data and science. Experts will share initiatives collecting critical information from fishing vessels, satellites and more to improve climate solutions, emphasizing innovation and access to support communities and combat data challenges.

This executive roundtable will explore how food and agriculture companies that produce consumer packaged goods are mobilizing internal and external capital to scale sustainable agriculture. Hydrogen emissions accounting to ensure real climate benefits

The future of hydrogen hinges on credible emissions standards. A dynamic event with EDF, NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council) and the Green Hydrogen Organisation will explore how global policies and science must evolve to unlock hydrogen’s true climate potential and build a trusted, thriving clean energy market.

Embracing beneficial fire: Lessons from California

Wildfire is essential in many ecosystems, yet efforts to suppress all fires can worsen outcomes. This panel will explore the climate and ecological value of beneficial fire, featuring global experts, including Indigenous voices, sharing experiences across continents, forest types and cultural fire practices.

Destination Belém: Climate lessons and leadership from Brazil

As Brazil leads the world toward COP30, the U.N. climate conference, this event highlights the country’s climate actions, from improving air quality and conserving rainforests to supporting Indigenous rights. Experts from energy, food, health and forestry sectors will share lessons aligned with the Action Agenda for COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
