Work
Annie Petsonk coordinates EDF’s advocacy efforts on international environmental law, international agreements and institutions and works to develop international laws that provide economic incentives for environmental protection.
Annie’s areas of expertise include economic incentives for environmental protection, international agreements & institutions, international environmental law, post-2012 roadmap/architecture, U.S. Congress and international aspects of U.S. climate legislation, clean development mechanism, and reducing deforestation (REDD+).
Background
Annie has been actively engaged in international climate negotiations since before the 1997 Kyoto Protocol to cut greenhouse gas emissions was agreed. Before coming to EDF, Annie worked for the United Nations Environment Program’s environmental law unit and as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. She received her JD from Harvard Law School.
