Thousands of household goods contain chemicals linked to serious health problems.

In June 2016, President Obama signed the Lautenberg Act, finally reforming the 40-year-old law after more than a decade of effort. Unfortunately, for four years, the Trump administration worked to stall and reverse this progress.
Now, the Biden administration has the opportunity to turn things around by implementing the law in a way that protects health — as it was intended to do. That action can drive down levels of harmful pollution and make meaningful improvements in the safety of chemicals.
We remain confident this strong, groundbreaking environmental law will ultimately deliver on its promises.
