Areas of expertise:
Strategic planning, organizational capacity-building, program operations, fisheries management, small-scale fisheries.
Alex oversees program operations for EDF’s Climate Resilient Fisheries & Oceans initiative, ensuring that the people, resources and systems are in place to achieve high impact results. She works closely with senior leaders to develop and execute strategies, collaborates with staff on project management and resource allocation, and facilitates coordination of our work across teams and projects in support of sustainable fisheries around the globe.
Background
Alex has experience working with experts across a variety of disciples, including fishermen, fishery managers, scientists, policy experts, community members and other stakeholders.
Prior to joining EDF, Alex worked in education, teaching environmental science and conservation to youth. She led educational marine science trips for high school students in the Caribbean, Central America, South Pacific, Asia and Africa.
