Trump Administration's Partisan Energy Project Cancellations Will Raise Electricity Costs
Statement from EDF VP for Political and Government Affairs Joanna Slaney
“Russell Vought’s unlawful attempt to cancel clean energy projects in states that didn’t vote for President Trump is going to make everyone’s electricity costs even higher. The same week that the Trump administration set fire to hundreds of millions of dollars to prop up the polluting coal industry, it’s now trying to shut down wind, solar and clean hydrogen projects – industries that have already created hundreds of thousands of jobs, sparked billions of dollars in manufacturing investments in every part of the country and delivered 95% of new power last year. In the middle of a government shutdown, these are shamelessly partisan actions, pulled straight from the Project 2025 playbook, favoring insiders in the fossil fuel industry and punishing American families.”
