Legislation Introduced to Reverse Tax Hikes on Clean Energy
Statement of EDF Vice President for Political and Government Affairs Joanna Slaney
Today, Sens. Schumer (D-NY) and Wyden (D-OR) introduced legislation to reverse President Trump's tax hikes on clean energy.
“Clean energy offers some of the most affordable and fastest ways to bring reliable power to communities. But President Trump’s tax law drives up costs by limiting clean energy supply, right when the country needs it the most. Restoring long-term wind and solar tax credits will lower household electric bills, create good-paying jobs, help meet power demand and strengthen our grid to withstand extreme weather. Communities need more clean energy – not less – to secure healthier, safer and more affordable futures.”
