Josephson is based at Environmental Defense’s national headquarters in New York City.
“Environmental Defense is extremely pleased to have Diana on board as chief operating officer,” said Environmental Defense executive director Fred Krupp. “She brings to Environmental Defense a unique blend of experience from the public and private sector, as well as from the arena of not-for-profit advocacy.”
Before her recent term as a principal deputy assistant secretary of the Navy, Diana served in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as Deputy Under Secretary for Oceans and Atmosphere and Chief Operating Officer. “Diana has the solid experience that can help the organization build on its past achievements and the vision to help us take on the environmental challenges of the 21st century. We’re delighted that she’ll be putting her talents to work with us,” said Krupp.
