As an Analytics Fellow for the Legal & Regulatory Team, Rishab tracks federal environmental regulatory developments across various agencies, conducts policy analysis on state and federal energy legislation, and assists with technical modeling of key climate policies.
Background
Prior to joining EDF, Rishab advocated for enhanced State-level environmental policy in Texas, with a focus on Methane pollution and the reforming of the Texas Railroad Commission, the agency primarily responsible for regulating oil & gas in the state. Before that, he was a community-based researcher in Colombia, studying the legal protections afforded to Indigenous peoples during the country's energy transition and community perspectives on a "Just Transition" to wind and solar energy in Indigenous territory.
