Western electricity markets, large loads integration and power systems analysis

In his role as a Lokey Fellow on the Decarbonizing U.S. Power team, Ponsu advances clean electricity markets and supports power sector decarbonization. His work involves electricity market design analysis, wholesale market economics and policies for integrating large electricity loads, including data centers, into the power grid. He conducts technical research, evaluates policy and economic frameworks, synthesizes complex information into policy recommendations and communicates findings through reports, regulatory comments and presentations.

Background

Prior to joining EDF, Ponsu graduated with a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University focusing on decarbonization across various scales of infrastructure. At Stanford, he was also participated in a yearlong fellowship where he worked with the sustainability office to push decarbonization of campus buildings using new-age tools. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor's in civil engineering from the top-most ranked university in India.
