Andrew H. Darrell

Andy Darrell is New York regional director and chief of strategy for EDF's US Climate and Energy Program.
He is a member of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio's PlaNYC Sustainability Advisory Board, which is developing a plan to prepare New York City for a resilient, sustainable, and equitable future. Andy also serves on the leadership committee of the Campaign for New York's Future. He was appointed to serve on a New York State commission to recommend traffic-cutting measures in 2007. EDF's New York team works with the public and private sectors to make the New York metropolitan region a global leader on greenhouse gas reduction and healthy air.
Before joining EDF in 2001, he was founding executive director of two coalitions that supported the redevelopment of New York City's waterfront for parks, open space and wildlife protection. The Hudson River Park Alliance played a leading role in creating a five-mile waterfront park in Manhattan, and the Waterfront Park Coalition was dedicated to revitalization of waterfront neighborhoods in New York City's five boroughs.
After attending law school, he worked as an associate at Davis Polk and Wardwell and consulted on energy efficiency projects.
