Larry Epstein is the Senior Manager for Environmental Defense Fund’s fisheries sustainability projects, specifically working on small-scale fisheries. He is currently working on projects in the Mesoamerican Reef region and Myanmar. His work is focused on using strong science, market-based tools, and economic incentives to empower fishermen to use sustainable fishing strategies.
Prior to Environmental Defense Fund, Larry worked with the United States Forest Service and National Park Service developing and implementing management plans.
He holds a BA in International Relations from Tufts University and an MPA from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.
