Financial Manager, Revenue & Compliance

 

OVERALL FUNCTION: 

The Financial Manager, Revenue & Compliance provides critical support to the Revenue function within the Finance department with a particular focus on providing rigorous financial analysis, employing knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles in addition to providing excellent communication and client support across the organization.  Daily, this will include reviewing and analyzing budgets, organizing and presenting complex financial data for reporting and decision-making, as well as reconciling divergent interpretations of financial positions. 

 

It is expected that the Financial Manager will routinely participate in high-visibility and high-priority cross-functional projects.  They must have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to understand and distill data analysis, gain credibility among clients, and provide support and strategic engagement to a functionally diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.  

 

Although this is a 100% remote position, the ideal candidate must be in the northeastern Tri-State area of the US. (New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania)

 

 

The position will report to the Senior Director of Revenue and Development. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide grants management support for high-profile grants 
  • As needed provide review/assessment of grant proposal budgets 
  • Partner with Development to ensure alignment with donor compliance
  • Conduct monthly analysis of revenue (GAAP vs Operating)
  • Lead formal quarterly confirmation of revenue
  • Design reports that proactively detect revenue inconsistencies, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
  • Lead quarterly reconciliation of Net Asset Balances
  • Provide support during annual audit as well on project specific audits
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively, resolving obstacles, alignment 
  • Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or another field that is quantitatively oriented
  • Minimum of four  (4) years of non-profit experience; providing financial, program or project management support
  • Prior experience in the environmental non-profit space is highlly preferred
  • Experience with budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Experience working with an ERP accounting and financial reporting system; NetSuite experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and developing strong working relationships with functionally diverse staff
  • Professional history of engaging and supporting global projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues and partners of diverse backgrounds and experience

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Up to 5% domestic travel possible

We offer a strong total rewards package encompassing competitive salary, robust benefits, and professional development opportunities consistent with a modern global organization.

The pay range for this role is 90,000 - 100,000 USD which takes into account factors such as candidate experience, skills, training, internal team equity and local norms.
