Coordinator, Database Services & Training

OVERALL FUNCTION

 

The Coordinator of Database Services & Training is responsible for the overall experience that the Administrative Development staff have with our database, CommonGround, from orientation to ongoing training and system development. The Coordinator will also work closely with the Manager of Database Services & Training on training for staff at other levels, and on analysis and other tools for use across, and beyond, the Development Department. S/he will report to the Manager, Database Services and Training.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Training new and existing staff
  • Conducting regular data audits to assess training needs and data integrity issues
  • Working closely with other members of the Development Data Team to review data integrity and use that data to drive training plans
  • Working with the Manager, Database Services & Training to develop and implement training plans for new or improved database features
  • Ensuring all database training documentation is accurate and up to date, and creating new materials as needed
  • Ensuring that all Development administrative staff have the database tools they need to do their jobs effectively

Database Training & Consulting

  • Conducts CommonGround training for all new Development Administrative staff and for existing staff as new functionality is developed and released
  • Works closely with the Manager of Database Services & Training to develop to train staff at other levels
  • Leads refresher trainings for existing Development administrative staff to address data integrity issues
  • Assists in the maintenance of the CommonGround training documentation library and the creation of new training documentation
  • Serves as a key Departmental contact for database-related inquiries

Database Development

  • Leads the bi-monthly convening of all Development Administrative staff to assess needs as they pertain to training & functionality
  • Works closely with the rest of the Development Data Team on the development of new fields and functionality, as well as associated policies, procedures, documentation and training in response to growing and changing Department needs
  • Assists with client review and testing of all new functionality before roll-out
  • Solicits feedback from administrative staff post-roll out for all new processes and functionality
  • Works closely with members of the IT Operations Team to understand, and communicate about, the impacts of changes to database functionality that are pushed out by our vendors

Data Reporting & Analysis

  • Assists in custom dashboard editing and maintenance
  • Works closely with the Manager of Database Training & Services to develop management-level analysis for use with & by Portfolio Managers, Department Managers including the Development Leadership Team, organization Executive Team members and, on occasion, the Board of Trustees

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and with at least 1-2 years of experience working in training
  • Salesforce or Luminate CRM experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and identify problems
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple high-priority projects to completion on tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
