Steve Schwartzman

For more than 20 years, Steve Schwartzman has worked in the Brazilian Amazon with indigenous and traditional communities, governments, scientists and the private sector to slow deforestation and protect forests.

Since 2004, EDF and our partners have been working together to create and implement one of the world’s largest continuous tropical forest corridors in Brazil’s Xingu River Basin.

At 27 million hectares, the corridor is now about the size of the United Kingdom.
