As the Communications Director for Environmental Defense Fund’s U.S. Climate and Energy Program, Mica employs communications strategies to engage key stakeholders and promote EDF's energy and environmental goals, develops the creation and implementation of media outreach and response strategies to breaking news and political events and executes integrated campaigns using multi-media channels. Mica also serves on the organization’s Sustainability Council, spearheading EDF's sustainable office practices efforts.
Prior to joining EDF, Mica worked for Meridian Solar as the company’s Government & Public Division Manager, leading crucial bidding processes and funding procurement efforts to secure new business as well as developing and coordinating governmental relations, marketing, PR and social networking initiatives. Mica has also worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Clinton Climate Initiative, at a leading advertising agency, GSD&M, and as the Texas House Economic Development Assistant Committee Clerk during the 79th and Committee Clerk during the 80th Texas Legislative Sessions. Mica serves on the board of directors of the Texas League of Conservation Voters and as a mentor for Explore Austin.
