Matt Rand manages national policy and communications efforts for EDF's Oceans program.

Prior to joining EDF, Matt was director of Global Shark Conservation at Pew Environment Group where he was responsible for directing global shark conservation efforts including establishing national and international shark reserves.

Matt also spent 10 years working with the National Environmental Trust to strengthen ocean conservation laws and helped to attain new conservation requirements in the reauthorization of the Magnuson Stevens Act of 2006.

Background

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University
