Work
Denise works with the Latin America and Caribbean team to create sustainable fisheries and healthy oceans in Cuba, Belize and Mexico. She manages projects to develop and implement catch share programs in the Mesoamerican Reef and the Gulf of California. In Cuba, Denise works with an array of partners on marine protected areas, coastal zone management and fisheries.
Raised in Barbados, Denise is passionate about sustaining the oceans, fisheries and coastal ecosystems in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Denise has worked with EDF on North Carolina energy policy, climate change and clean car technology.
Prior to EDF, Denise worked with the Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines on beach nourishment issues on the North and South Carolina coastlines. She also contributed to the creation of a bilingual coastal zone management guide for Cuba and worked on sustainable tourism development.
She has worked with the Barbados Marine Trust and stakeholders to raise awareness on marine protection and with Coconut Court Beach Resort to achieve and maintain third party certification for environmental standards.
