Work

Denise works with a talented group of experts to deliver innovative training, tools and research on catch shares around the world. She and the team work alongside policymakers, fishermen, fishery managers, practitioners and other industry stakeholders to help design and develop fishery management solutions. Prior to joining the Design Center, Denise worked to create sustainable fisheries and healthy oceans in Cuba, Belize and Mexico. Raised on the tiny island of Barbados, Denise has always been deeply connected to the sea and is passionate about sustaining the oceans, fisheries and coastal ecosystems.

Denise has worked with EDF on North Carolina energy policy, climate change and clean car technology.

Prior to EDF, Denise worked with the Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines on beach nourishment issues on the North and South Carolina coastlines. She has also worked with the Barbados Marine Trust and stakeholders to raise awareness on marine protection and with Coconut Court Beach Resort to achieve and maintain third party certification for environmental standards.
