Chaprece Henry is an Energy Efficiency Research Associate in the Energy Program at Environmental Defense Fund. She currently works on EDF Climate Corps to improve energy efficiency in Hispanic-serving academic institutions in Texas. She establishes relationships with leaders in the predominately Hispanic-serving university community in southwest Texas, helping them secure new sources of funding for improved campus sustainability, develop ways to engage their student bodies in efficiency efforts and more.
Background
Chaprece earned B.A. degrees in History and Latin American studies from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts. She perfected her Spanish language skills during a year in Lima, Peru, when she served as a youth counselor working with underprivileged special needs children, and securing funding for much needed medical supplies. She also spent time in the Dominican Republic working on community development, constructing homes and implementing new farming techniques that resulted in a 40% increase in productivity.
