Manager, Consumer Health
Areas of expertise: Sustainable consumer products and supply chains, safer chemicals
Boma Brown-West is a manager on EDF’s Supply Chain Team within the Corporate Partnerships Program. In her role, she is an advocate for reducing people’s exposure to toxic chemicals. By working with stakeholders across the retail supply chain, like Walmart, she works to promote the development and usage of safer chemicals in consumer products.
Prior to joining EDF, Boma spent 10 years at Whirlpool Corporation in roles that ranged from R&D Engineer to Lead Sustainability Engineer. On Whirlpool’s Sustainability Team, Boma played a driving role in establishing the North American sustainability strategy and structure, scaling its product recycling program, integrating LCA into product development, overhauling its materials data management, and working with industry colleagues to create the region’s first ever appliance sustainability standards. In her graduate work, Boma examined factors that improve the economics of electronics recycling programs.
