Work

Vickie Patton manages the organization's national and regional clean air programs, working on a variety of Clean Air Act regulatory and litigation activities across the country. She also integrates measures to reduce greenhouse gases with conventional air quality management strategies.

For 18 years, she has worked on many major policy initiatives to dramatically cut air pollution and protect human health and the environment from airborne contaminants. She has been involved in numerous Clean Air Act cases, including several successful cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Background

Prior to joining Environmental Defense Fund, worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of General Counsel in Washington, D.C., where she provided legal counsel on a variety of national air quality initiatives.

  • Recipient of EPA’s Gold Medal for Exceptional Service, the Agency’s highest honor award.
  • Member, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Clean Air Act Advisory Committee.
  • Member, Initiatives Oversight Committee of the Western Regional Air Partnership.
