Work

An ecologist with our Center for Conservation Incentives, Bruce works with private landowners in the northeast to conserve and restore ecosystems and endangered species.

He is currently working to promote the recovery of several federally listed species in the region by providing private landowners with financial incentives, regulatory assurances and technical assistance to catalyze habitat restoration projects.

He is also working with forest owners to promote carbon sequestration and develop carbon offsets through sustainable forest management.

Prior to joining Environmental Defense, Hammond was an ecologist with The Nature Conservancy and a policy analyst with the Natural Resources Council of Maine.
