Work

As National Outreach Manager for EDF's Oceans Program, Ayelet (pronounced "I-yell-it") support grasstops and grassroots advocates to become active in the political process on behalf of fishing communities and the environment.

Connecting citizens with policymakers to improve fishermen's lives and the health of our oceans by ending overfishing, Ayelet works with EDF's national policy team to organize annual outreach visits between fishermen and Congressional leaders as well as facilitate other policy outreach.

Background

Ayelet has been mobilizing target constituencies to engage in the political process on behalf of social change since she was 13, on issues ranging from human rights and public health to environmental protection and workers' rights.

For over two decades Ayelet has worked for complex social change through the most fundamental tenet: If you want to improve people's lives, you need to inspire and empower the people around you every day. This philosophy has driven Ayelet's work at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; Georgetown University's Health Policy Institute; the Sierra Club; and now Environmental Defense Fund.
