Climate Corps

Greening business and training leaders

MBA Fellows

MBA fellows are recruited by Net Impact and are chosen for their ability to do technical and financial analyses, project manage and help facilitate organizational change. Past MBA fellows have represented top business schools, including those at The University of Michigan, MIT, Stanford University, and Yale University.

While the MBA fellows are not expected to have a background in energy efficiency, experience in this field does help. EDF trains all fellows in the fundamentals of energy efficiency strategy before the internships begin. Combined with this foundation, the financial analysis and business skills acquired from their MBA program, and their passion for positive environmental impact, the fellows will have the tools necessary to develop a set of energy efficiency recommendations at their host company.

Over the course of 10-12 weeks, the Climate Corps fellows develop detailed business cases for their final energy efficiency recommendations. The end result is a thoroughly-researched actionable plan and tools to drive next steps at the organization.

The fellow's role in the program is to work with their company to identify, analyze or implement energy efficiency solutions and share those results with EDF in the form of a written report and financial model. Throughout the summer fellows will be expected to update EDF staff on their work, attend bi-weekly fellow check-in calls and share best practices with other fellows.
