Final Deliverables
Fellows will develop a detailed report based on the workplan developed by the host company and the fellow. The report should include recommended energy efficiency projects along with projected dollar and energy savings.
Outline of a sample report
- Executive Summary
- Aimed at host company executives, should not exceed 2 pages in length
- Background
- Brief overview of goals of Climate Corps fellowship
- Brief overview of host company/facility characteristics
- Overview of work completed throughout the summer
- Recommended Energy Efficiency Projects and Actions
- Detailed descriptions of all recommended energy efficiency projects and actions
- Short term (3-6 months) implementation
- Medium term (6 months-1 year) implementation
- Long term (1-5 years) implementation
- Financials for recommended projects (in whatever format host company prefers)
- Energy reduction potential for recommended projects and actions
- GHG reduction potential for recommended projects and actions
- Overcoming Barriers to Energy Efficiency
- Analysis of barriers to energy efficiency in place at host company
- Internal operational barriers
- Internal financial barriers
- External (e.g. leasing) barriers
- Other barriers as applicable
- Recommended strategies for overcoming those barriers
- Document successes overcoming barriers over the course of summer fellowship
- Conclusions
- Lay out clear next steps for host company
- Include additional sections as necessary
Outline for supplementary report to be submitted to EDF
- Best Practices
- Describe efficiency best practices in place at your host company (both those in place before Climate Corps summer, and any you helped establish)
- List of key energy efficiency stakeholders at your host company
- Include any learnings on motivations/concerns of these stakeholders
- Advice to EDF staff in how best to advance your recommendations with the host company
- What about the Climate Corps internship program would you change to increase the success of future interns?
