Here are just some of the amazing outcomes of the seven Climate Corps fellowships from 2008:

Yahoo! - Ali Moazed

Ali Moazed, a Climate Corps fellow based at Yahoo! worked with Christina Page, Yahoo!'s Director of Climate and Energy Strategy on a three-year strategic plan for energy and greenhouse gas management and helped mobilize a team of Yahoo! programmers to work on "green coding"—developing Yahoo! applications to transfer data over the Internet in a more energy-efficient way.

Intuit - John Joseph

At Intuit, Climate Corps fellow John Joseph identified a wide range of energy saving opportunities—from upgrading the air conditioning and heating systems to installing controls so that lights in bathrooms and lounges turn off automatically when not in use. These projects could save the company more than half a million dollars per year in energy costs.

Cisco Systems - Emily Reyna

At networking technology giant Cisco Systems, Climate Corps fellow Emily Reyna helped develop plans for a new energy-saving device for equipment in R&D labs that would save an estimated $8 million per year (with an 18-month payback) and reduce Cisco's greenhouse gas emissions by 3%.

Crescent Real Estate Equities - Tyler Monzel

For regional property management firm Crescent Real Estate Equities, Climate Corps fellow Tyler Monzel identified efficiency upgrades that would cut electricity use by more than 2.5 million kilowatt hours and save $400,000 annually, reduce CO2 emissions and help attract and retain tenants.
