Work

Jason Funk works with communities, coalitions, partners and consultants to improve the cost-effectiveness of federal farm conservation programs, to expand coastal wetlands restoration using carbon-market finance, to explore the impacts of agricultural markets on U.S. land use and, at the international level, to develop policy strategies for rewarding better land-use practices through carbon markets.

Mr. Funk’s areas of expertise include land use and climate change, land use and water quality, carbon finance, international carbon markets, environmental policy analysis and project development.

Background

Before joining EDF, Mr. Funk worked with indigenous rural landowners in New Zealand on the use of market-based incentives for carbon sequestration in native forests. He holds a PhD from Stanford University and MS and BS degrees from Ohio State University.
