Training MBA Students To Help Companies Go Green
Together with our partner, Net Impact, EDF embeds trained MBA students in companies to identify energy efficiency improvements that can cut costs and reduce emissions. Our goals »
Who's Involved
Net Impact selects qualified MBA students for fellowships using an online application process. EDF is recruiting forward-thinking host companies.
How It Works
After being matched with appropriate host companies, students undergo training in energy efficiency strategies.
Then, with help from EDF and their host companies, the fellows develop detailed reports focused on analyzing and facilitating energy efficiency investments.
The Results
Climate Corps fellows have uncovered efficiencies in lighting, computer equipment, and heating and cooling systems that will help host companies:
- Save $89 million in net operational costs over the project lifetimes;
- Cut the equivalent of 280 million kilowatt hours of energy use per year—enough to power 24,000 homes;
- Avoid over 157,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year—equivalent to taking more than 19,000 SUVs off the road.
