Tell Your Senator We Need Clean Energy Legislation with a Real Limit on Carbon Pollution

Clean energy is the way forward for Americans. By developing clean energy here we will boost our economy, protect our planet from harmful emissions, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

The Campaign

Help us convince your Senators that we need clean energy legislation with a real limit on carbon pollution now. Send us your video by February 26 and we'll make sure your Senators get the message.

Your part

1. Create a video that creatively, smartly and vividly explains to your Senator why we need clean energy legislation now. Videos should be no longer than 30 seconds.
2. Put the video on YouTube with your state abbreviation at the start of your video title. (e.g. "OH - Clean Energy Now!")
3. Fill out the form below so we know where your video is.

How to get your Senators to listen

• Talk right to them, and use their names!
• Use a creative and/or clever approach to illustrate your points.
• Make an interesting video that your Senator will feel like watching.
• Keep it short. These are busy people. 30 seconds or less.
• Avoid partisanship and blame-filled lectures. Remember that your goal is to convince your Senators, and those tactics are not likely to work.
• Focus on the benefits that you think will appeal to your Senators. There are lots of options: less pollution, new jobs, less dependence on foreign oil, a leg up on international competitors in Asia and Europe, limiting climate change, etc.
