What landowners get

Financial assistance in the form of:
-
10-year cost-share agreement, landowner to receive up to 50% cost share for conservation practices, or
-
30-year easement, landowner to receive up to 75% of fair market value of enrolled land plus up to 75% cost share for conservation practices, or
-
easement of not more than 99 years, landowner to receive up to 75% of fair market value of enrolled and plus costs of conservation practices); and/or
-
- technical assistance

Restore and enhance forest ecosystems to
- promote the recovery of threatened and endangered species,
- improve biodiversity, and
- enhance carbon sequestration
Who it’s for
Private landowners of either forestlands or historical forestland converted to cropland
Land types covered
Lands that restore, enhance or measurably increase the likelihood of recovery of threatened or endangered species, must improve biological diversity, or increase carbon sequestration
What it is
HFRP provides financial incentives to conserve and restore endangered species habitat on privately owned forest lands, improve biodiversity and enhance carbon sequestration.
