Eco Details

  • Some wild salmon are caught off California, Oregon and Washington.
  • Because of the collapse of chinook populations and the poor state of coho salmon off California and Oregon, salmon fishing has been severely restricted for those states.
  • Washington fisheries remain open.
  • Overfishing and habitat damage from dam construction, deforestation and urban development all threaten salmon populations.
