Operation: Climate Vote
Our all-out campaign to urge Congress to pass global warming legislation this year
"I ask this Congress to send me legislation that places a market-based cap on carbon pollution and drives the production of more renewable energy in America" -- President Barack Obama, February 24, 2009.
President Obama says that our environmental and economic renewal "starts with a cap and trade" system to deal with global warming. But he needs the support of Congress to achieve this historic goal this year.
But special interests and big polluters are doing everything they can to block action.
It's our job to keep up the pressure and demand action. The climate crisis is real and it's growing. We need action this year.
That's why we have launched Operation Climate Vote, an intensive online campaign to focus grassroots pressure like never before and demand a vote. Time is running. Congress must pass a strong global warming bill this year.
Here are 5 ways you can take action right now.
- Take action.
- Tell your friends.
- Call Congressional leaders to demand a vote.
- Write a letter to the editor.
- Make a donation.
