Clean air initiatives
What we're doing: Through science, advocacy, and the courts, we're focused on defending existing clean air standards and closing the policy loopholes that expose many Americans to air pollution.
Why: Air pollutants take a steep toll on human health. Significant reductions in air pollutants will save thousands of lives—especially in at-risk communities.
Secure deep reductions in smog and other major air pollutants
We're making sure the EPA can properly limit smog and toxic emissions like mercury and acid gases, which are emitted by power plants that burn fossil fuels.
Your help is needed: Voice your support for tougher limits on smog.
Trim pollutants from oil and gas development
We plan to win additional clean air protections at the national and state level that will govern oil and gas development, similar to Colorado’s landmark requirement to control emissions to lower air pollution.
Raise awareness in communities most affected by unhealthy air
We will continue to foster partnerships with organizations, including Moms Clean Air Force and the League of United Latin Americans Citizens, to help spread awareness about the impacts of poor air quality.
