| The electricity industry is changing. In some states, customers can now choose their electricity supplier, selecting electricity generated either from polluting fossil fuel and nuclear plants or from cleaner, environmentally preferable, or "green" sources. Customers in a number of states will hopefully have the same opportunities later this year.
Environmental Defense is working to make buying electricity from clean, environmentally preferable sources such as wind and solar as popular as recycling is today. Buying green electricity is a simple and effective way for people to make an immediate environmental difference and help build a sustainable future. |
